The second annual Project GEM fundraiser will be held on Saturday
December 15, 2012 at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center (ISBCC), Boston, MA.
The fund raising effort is for a girls school in Badhan, Somalia. The school will accommodate 140 girls during a typical school day and will provide vocational training for 80 women in the evenings. The event is sponsored by the Somali Community of Boston as well as the ICB Wayland.
The keynote speaker of the evening will be Ms. Ann Fudge. Ms.Fudge was the former CEO of Young and Rubicam and serves on the board of directors of General Electric, Unilever, Harvard University, Novartis and Infosys. Special guests include the Governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, and Congresswoman Niki Tsongas.
